Support is pouring in from across Sheffield for a new campaign to create ‘a million jobs’.

At the Heeley Festival last weekend, local Liberal Democrat councillors and campaigners helped to collect signatures for the national campaign.

Since the Liberal Democrats joined the Government in 2010, one million private sector jobs have been created, alongside a massive expansion in apprentices. However, Liberal Democrats now want go further and see another million jobs created.

Cllr Denise Reaney, local Liberal Democrat councillor for Graves Park, said:

“Speaking to people at Heeley Festival it’s clear that they want to see more jobs created. Local people have lost patience with Labour council bosses who are driving jobs from Ikea and Next away from Sheffield.

“Building a Stronger Economy is a top priority for Liberal Democrats. We’ve already created a million private sector jobs in Government but we know people want us to go further. That’s what the Liberal Democrats’ A Million Jobs campaign is all about.”
